I had been looking forward to Meg and Andy’s Central Park Elopement from the moment we finalized details last January. Partially because it was wonderful to dream about warm summer days during the depths of our snowy winter, but mainly because it was so nice chatting with Meg as she made plans for their holiday away from Ireland! As our August date got closer, it was really hard to contain my glee every time a message popped up from Meg. She made her dress?! And her bouquet?! She wants to include Guinness in a photo?! Woo-hoo, this is a girl after my own heart!!! It was such a pleasure meeting these two and I’m so happy we’ll be able to hang out with each other again on our own Irish honeymoon next June :)
Meg’s handmade dress, complete with a memory tag in it! Pretty much every detail you will see within this blog, Meg made under her moniker, Love Ezra. Her talents and abilities are limitless!
Yes indeed, this bouquet of paper roses was handmade from maps!!! I especially love her touch of including Donegal, Ireland and New York at the very top, which you’ll see later in the blog…
Handmade beaded headpiece with birdcage veil? Check. Lace top over dress? Check. Handmade beaded belt? Check. Meg is stunningly gorgeous in her creations…
First look on the rooftop of the Hotel Giraffe…
His and hers Guinness pints, I love their sense of humor :)
His boutonniere also handmade from maps? Check.
Sadly Cop Cot in Central Park was a little overrun with trash and sleeping homeless (oh the joys of summer in the city), so we found the perfect alternative for their ceremony at Wisteria Pergola!
Special thanks to my assistant for the day, Sarah Day-Boodhoo, who brought along her film cameras and got some great captures as well!!!
Handmade Mr. & Mrs. Sign? Check!
Sometimes even blurry photos are keepers :)
Handmade cufflinks from maps, representing his home town and New York? Check. There is not one detail Meg didn’t think of, she’s my wedding hero :)
Cupcakes from Billy’s Bakery? Check. Ok, ok, so that was my doing. You need to have a bit o’ cake on your wedding day after all ;) And hands down, the best cupcake I’ve found in this city. That’s right, I said it, the best. They even have Cupcake Happy Hour at their downtown location!
On our way through the park, a lovely woman stopped us and told us the wedding couple just had to have their photo taken with this rose petal heart. Turns out we had met Perfect Picnic NYC owner, Wendy Weston, who had set this all up as a surprise proposal earlier that day!
Clearly, I loved every.single.minute. of this wedding :) Meg and Andy made it their own special day and I am so honored to have been included in it all. Steve and I can’t wait to get a real pint of Guinness with you guys next June!!! — xoxo
