Necklaces, bracelets and Rings, Oh My! {A bit of Bridal Jewelry Inspiration}

My goal this past weekend was to test out a few different macro lens options and end my internal debate over whether I really, really needed to purchase the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L USM Lens…like right now! You can read all about it here, the short answer being, I can wait. But then I started digging through the half dozen make-shift jewelry boxes on my dresser. Coincidently, about half of them are the lens boxes from the Fuji X Series. They are small and black and perfect for storing gems! Anyways, I knew I wanted to shoot my favorite charm bracelet. But then there was the cameo ring, the pearls, the fake engagement ring leftover from a shoot last year, the vintage topaz ring…too many favorites and too many different styles piled up on the bed. So I decided to shoot them all :-)

The cameo ring is a hand-me-down from my aunt, the earrings from my grandmother. The pearls I picked up during one of my very first visits to Midtown to one of the many beading stores on 6th Avenue. I really love that each piece is a happy memory. I love when I shoot a bride’s jewelry and she’s incorporated some family history into her accessories for the day!

Ok, so technically none of the pieces below are very old, but they could be! This charm bracelet is one of my favorite accessories, given to me as a thank you from a talented artist for shooting her beautiful oil paintings. The pendant and ring are fabulous pieces of costume jewelry. I can totally see a bride wearing these with a vintage lace gown…

Sadly, I don’t get many chances to wear this necklace but that doesn’t mean I don’t adore it! Paired with these simple diamond drop earrings, they’d make the perfect accent to a sweetheart strapless bridal gown!

The crystals were part of a necklace I found in a jewelry box of my great-grandmother’s years ago. It was falling apart at the time, but easy enough for me to restring. I love that the pearls accent the warm tone of the topaz ring, another of my all-time favorite pieces of jewelry! I love that they are all a little off-beat and different, perfect for a summer backyard-style wedding…
