For every couple planning a wedding, weather is one of the few things you want to control and can’t. All you can do is cross your fingers, maybe say a prayer or possibly even do a rain dance to keep the clouds away and then make the most of the weather you’ve been dealt. For some, it’s bringing along an umbrella and dancing happily in the rain anyways. For Karen and Peter, it’s getting the perfect kind of day, the sunny kind, the warm-but-not-too-warm kind…the kind of day you wouldn’t expect to have when you are planning a wedding in the Northeast…in December. And I couldn’t be happier for them to have had such a beautiful day as they are just such a sweet and loving couple. Take a look…
Karen’s gorgeous Rebecca Schoneveld gown…she’s one of my favorite bridal gown designers. And I say that not just because she referred Karen to me in the first place :) Thank you Rebecca!!!
Karen added a beautiful hushedCOMMOTION belt to the dress to finish off her look. So stunning…
Ceremony at the beautiful St. Patrick’s Church in Bay Ridge…
The interior architecture is just breathtaking! I was so happy to be able to access the choir loft to get this shot!
The ceremony itself goes so quickly, you don’t have time to look to see what you’ve gotten for a shot. You just have to trust your instincts when it comes to timing and shoot away. So one of my favorite aspects of this job is finding I’ve captured such an emotional moment from the day as I edit through the files after the fact. Like this one, I just love Karen’s laughter in this shot…
The happiness and love coming from these two was contagious the entire day.
This has to be the most unique escort card displays I have ever had the privilege of seeing! They found these great famous people finger puppets at the Christmas Village, called “Magnetic Personalities” that they put on this board with the name cards. Such a fun idea!!!
Cebu Bar & Bistro did an amazing job for the reception. The entire staff was so nice and courteous the entire time. And I just adore the floral centerpieces. Simple, elegant, perfect for a holiday winter wedding!
Whenever I asked them to pose with serious faces, they inevitably broke out into laughter. It’s like I planned it :)
The next few shots are my favorite from the day! I really loved the lounge/bar area of the place.
Seriously, how stunning are these two?!
It took some coaxing, but I got Karen’s brother and sister-in-law to have some fun with their finger puppets :)
I’m pretty sure Peter’s aunt was teasing him about something, there is so much love within this family…
I managed to sneak Karen and Peter away for some farewell shots, partially because I wanted to shoot her wearing this wrap!
So much for the American Gothic pose, they just can’t help smiling at each other ;)
Thank you Karen and Peter, for allowing me to take part in your special day and document the memories you will look back on and enjoy for years and years to come! I wish you a lifetime of happiness :)
