Maybe it’s because of my birthday, or perhaps because the days are getting longer and brighter, but spring has always been one of my favorite seasons. Everything smells fresh and clean and the world just seems to burst forth in color overnight. This is no exception at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and every spring it transforms into a sea of pink Cherry Blossom blooms…and Magnolia trees, tulips, daffodils…
As this shoot drew closer, I could not contain my excitement and every day checked the bbg.org site for an update on the blooming trees. And what better story to tell with this shoot than that of Antheia, Greek Goddess of flowers, as she meanders through the garden on the way to meet her groom. It all worked out so perfectly, right down to this gorgeous gown from Sarah Jassir for Angelique Bridal that invokes the season with its beautifully beaded bodice and flowing skirt.
Rachel is simply stunning and plays the perfect Greek Goddess!
Special thank you to Hushed Commotion for the “Sabina” headpiece Rachel is wearing.
This next shot is one of my favorites and served as a sneak peak…
I love these next detail shots! Karma Flowers nailed it with the single King Protea bloom. It is so sophisticated all on it’s own, complementing the look and the multitude of blossoms around the gardens.
This soft, neutral makeup look from Sabrina Gilbert is so subtle but so gorgeous!
I am beyond thrilled that this shoot was recently featured on Wedding Chicks! Thank you so much to everyone who was involved, helping to make this a fabulous day! Special thanks to Sofia from the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, who not only helped me navigate the permit process in the weeks leading up to the shoot, but came along with us to help keep the crowds at bay so we could capture this as if we had the Garden all to ourselves!
