Things I Learned On My Last Photo Shoot…

One of the things I love about photography – you never know what to expect. No matter how much you scout a location and plan all the details, weather can (and will) change in an instant and without a doubt, something will go wrong. And when it does? You have to take it all in stride with a smile. Just be the duck!

So far I’ve learned:

1. Moms always have tissues for a reason, it’s a very wise practice to follow. It’s also a good idea to bring a blanket along for engagement shoots…

2. A glass of wine before the session to calm nerves should be considered a perk of the job :)

3. If you aren’t sure how to set up a chess board, perhaps it’s best to ask one of the park sharks, or you know, google it! Otherwise, you get awesome shots like this one that you can’t use because the pointy guy (apparently also known as the Bishop) needs to trade places with the horse…
