“I need a model, ” I sighed one evening. I wanted to try out some new posing techniques to get more natural reactions from clients and I didn’t want to wait ’til my next scheduled shoot a few weeks later (which just happens to be this coming weekend!)
I’m not entirely sure of his response, or just how much I pleaded with him to take a couple of hours to “play” with me, but I did manage to convince Steve to model for me!
My goal was to shoot a man getting ready for a big event, to not appear staged but natural and fresh. Knowing Steve’s routine often consists of some guitar playing, I made sure this was included in the session. They are definitely some of my favorite images. Lesson learned: Actions that come naturally to your clients will appear natural in a photograph. Use this to your advantage!!!!
And now….the making of a sharp-dressed man…cue ZZ Top…
Yes, I made him go through all the steps, including ironing! I love him!
These are, by, far, my favorite shots from the session. And not just because he has a beer in hand! What a smile…
Special thanks to Steve for being such a willing participant, and Bosley, who had to relocate from his morning nap as a result of the Gibson :)
