Apple Orchards + Beautiful Friends = Just enough time before the rain sets in

Some people may not believe this, but I grew up in the country. I spent summers playing house in the woods, rolling down grassy hills (who am I kidding, I still do this!) and trying desperately to keep up with my brother’s bike. After one magical trip to Manhattan as a teenager, I was hooked on city life. The freedom to go wherever I pleased, whenever I pleased and have everything I could ever want at my fingertips was intoxicating to a girl who could be snowbound for days ’til the roads were plowed. The mall was a mere 45 minutes away!

After 15 years living around and finally in the city, I’ve rediscovered my love of all things country. Hiking on trails less traveled, and yes, riding a bike again. Albeit, Central Park will never compete with Pete’s Hill…

I digress, this blog centers around Apple Picking! Long story short (too late!), I like to think I’ve found a nice balance between my country/city alter egos. And it’s nice to have friends who also like to escape the city from time to time. It’s even better when they are willing photography subjects! The apples we picked were a nice bonus…

Eric looks at Nancy so sweetly, I love it!

She reciprocates!

Did you really think I wouldn’t take photos of the trees?!

Ok ok, back to people!

The apples were pretty heavy, we took a hay ride back to the car where I snapped these next two…

This next one is my favorite, and the last image I took for the day…

And then it rained. I mean, a downpour. Thankfully we were close to the head of the line for our cider donuts, which we promptly devoured inside the warm dry Accord interior! Special thanks to Eric and Nancy for letting me tag along and stick a camera in their faces :)
